ZipThaw: the New Standard of Care

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital compared ZipThaw to traditional water baths for thawing cryopreserved cell products. ZipThaw is already widely used for thawing and melting plasma.

The results: ZipThaw provided reliable temperature control and significantly higher post-thaw cell viability.

  • ZipThaw reliably controlled the thawing process, safely stopping at an average temperature of 15.8°C
  • Cells thawed using ZipThaw had significantly higher viability rates compared to those thawed in the water bath
