Higher FDA Standard

The FDA cleared ZipThaw based on new testing requirements. The FDA 510(k) application was based on a study by the San Diego Blood Bank and UC San Diego Health Laboratories.

The Results: ZipThaw preserves coagulation factors better than traditional water baths when thawing fresh frozen plasma.

  • Study tested 197 samples and performed over 1,700 assays
  • ZipThaw demonstrated a lower increase in mean TAT concentration (18%) compared to the standard water bath method (33%)
