FreMon Scientific has successfully completed a first round financing resulting in a working prototype blood, plasma and tissue warming and thawing device.
Under the guidance of the Mintz Levin (Boston and San Diego offices) law firm, the MFA CPA firm, and board members Salvatore Viscomi MD and Thomas Rosenbloom, angel investors have now invested nearly $1,000,000 to fund prototype development and related business activities. FMS has applied the proceeds to the successful development, with multiple patents, of a new less-costly, rapid, dry, portable and energy-efficient blood, plasma and tissue products warming and thawing device: ZipThaw202™ and the disposable ZipSleeve™. Combined ZipThaw and ZipSleeve have the potential to extend warming and thawing of blood, plasma, and tissue products stored in any type or size bag, or vial, from temperatures ranging between -196C to 3C safely and rapidly to 36.5C. In less than 15 minutes, as many as 4 bags can be processed at the same time.
FMS expects to conduct a 2nd round financing December 30, 2017 to fund ongoing product and business development, manufacturing, marketing and sales. Four major blood and tissue bank technology distributors have agreed to sell and service ZipThaw and ZipSleeve as soon and FDA certification and CE Mark are complete.
